Visiting the Whirpool office in Budapest.

On our last Tuesday of our trip, Drew and I went to visit the Whirlpool office in Budapest. Before the trip he got in touch with the office to set up an appointment to have a visit, and see how they do things in Hungary. It was very interesting to talk to them (luckily they knew English so I did not have to translate!). All the appliances there are much smaller than the ones in the US, but they still looked neat in their own way. There are Whirlpool offices all over Europe so the prospect of Drew getting a job overseas someday are not too bad. We both would LOVE to live in Europe someday for a couple of years. It would be nice to live close to my parents again and for Andrew to learn a couple of foreign languages!

The office here in Knoxville is a good place to work, too. Besides getting all of our appliances for much less than retail Drew has gotten a lot of small appliances (kitchenaid toaster, kitchenaid coffee grinder, etc.) free as a result of incentives to meet a certain number of sales.

After the office visit we went to a "Hungarian Mall" to shop. The mall looked just like one here in the States.

This picture is not taken upside down. The whole display with the animals and greenery was put upside down on a ceiling as you go up the escalator. Very interesting!!!
